cotton balls
I cannot touch cotton balls. I usually encounter them when trying to remove nail polish or opening a bottle of medication stuffed with cotton at the top. The feel of raw cotton makes me grind my teeth, cringe, shudder, and makes my those around me judge my lunacy. It’s almost a handicap really.

I dont mind cotton wool pads but the balls or the ones where you have to rip off the bit of cotton wool from a big pile of it makes me feel sick. Touching velvet does the same this. GRIM.
I know how you feel. *Cringes* Even the word makes me cringe!
Oh god oh god cotton KILL IT
T.T
I am exactly the same way.
I feel it in my teeth when i rub cotton balls between two fingers.
this is normal, yes?
Me too. In my case this is part of a diagnosed sensory integration problem. Cotton balls are not my only trigger, but they are my worst one.
oh my gosh i didn’t know anyone in the world had this same problem! i’ve had this since i was little, and people think i am so weird! i can’t even look at a cotton ball without cringing and grinding my teeth. sometimes i even have to ask my hubby to pull certain items out of the cloths washer cause when wet, some blankets or clothing get that “crunchy cotton” feeling as i call it! wow i don’t feel so alone anymore!! LOL
)
This runs in my family… my father, my uncle, my cousin and I all suffer from this problem! No one else understands… they always look at you funny when you mention it!
I feel the same way! welcome to the club
man i know exactly what ur saying.. interesting enough i found this only came about really this past year… since i was about 22… thats when coton started bothering me… when i go to get my nails done, the rubbing makes me cringe… i hate it… i wonder if its something..like a noise emitted thats like a pitch that one can hear at a certain age…anyway.. yea i feel the same thing with the wet cotton sometimes..
I despise cotton (and chalk) and probably know at LEAST 3 other people that feel the same way about that vile little bastard.
Ha! My mother in law and husband are like this.
my cousin claims the same issue. he can’t stand’em.
I hate cotton too, it just feels so… disturbing! There’s a certain kind of snow that feels the same way underfoot, and it’s horrible! Living in the northeast, it was hard to avoid, and there would be days I couldn’t stand to go outside just because of the way the snow hurt my teeth when I walked on it.
I know about the snow, too! It doesn’t disturb me quite as much as raw cotton, but yeah. Ew.
I have the same problem. I am only 16 and have been dealing with this for about 5 years that I can remember. Whenever I hear cotton rip or styrafoam rubbing together it makes me sick to my stomach. Even thinking about it makes me feel funny in my stomach. I also cant stand to touch certain clothes and blankets made of certain kinds of cotton without feeling a little funny like a sickish feeling. I searched it and I think it’s called sensor integration dysfunction, or SI dysfunction but i’m not really sure. Hope I could help or someone can help me to know why I do this.
I have the same problem!! But just with cotton balls, I have to get some one else take the cotton ball out that comes in a Med. bottle…. And it makes me sick I have even throuen up from hearing them rubed to gether…. all my friends think its so funny Well its NOT!!!!
I hate the feel of suede especially when wet – Yuck funnily enough though smooth leather is fine I like the feel of that.
I thought… I was alone.
no longer
Cotton balls and finger nails are the worst. Anyone get freaked out at the combo. Alone they’re fine, but together. Yikes!!
My boss makes fun of me for it… he sometimes belittles me in front of new clients and make me… do things
