food cakes
I used to make little cakes of food on my fork – especially with stew. I would have a bottom layer of rice, then a piece of lettuce, then a carrot, then a piece of chicken. Creating the layers would take about a minute each, which made me the last person at the dinner table pretty much every day. I don’t do it anymore. Well, not as often.

I’m guilty of doing this, but it doesn’t slow me down much and I find it makes every bite taste better.
My family has made fun of me for this for years. They call my cakes “open-faced sandwiches” instead, though.
