counting stairs
When I walk up or down stairs I usually count them. When there is more than one flight it bothers me if each flight doesn’t have the same number of stairs.

Sherlock Holmes once quizzed Watson about the number of stairs on a staircase they had just climbed, to demonstrate the importance of paying attention if you want to catch clues. So… maybe there are some future neurotic detectives here!
