right pocket
My phone and keys have to always be in my right pocket and my wallet always has to be in my right pocket. I never really thought of it as neurotic until I visited this site and saw a similar post.

I do this lots, but I think of it as a good system and not being neurotic.
My phone, its headphones, its USB cable and my keys go in the left front pocket.
My iPod and its headphones go on their own in the right front pocket so it doesn’t get scratched.
My wallet goes in my right back pocket, because one of my pairs of jeans has a hole in the left back pocket so I’m afraid people could pinch my wallet (and obviously it has to be the same pocket every time).
My keys and phone go on the right, but wallet goes on the left. Anything flat and flexible gets pocketed on the left with the wallet, anything oddly-shaped or bulky goes on the right.
Same thing here.. Always keeps my keys and phone in right pocket, then lighter and smokes in the left one. I think this is perfectly normal though?
Hmm… i never really thought this was neurotic either. I keep my wallet and keys in my left and my phone in my right. If I reach for my phone in my right pocket and its not there, I freak out thinking I lost it, never thinking to see if I mistakenly put it in my left pocket (which is often the case).
same, but mainly because I need it to be the same “feel” in both sides.

is it really a neurosis? i’ve always preferred it that way, and given the chance with today’s fashion, its not like its hard to fulfill. i would have figured that getting used to where you would put a cellphone, keys, wallet, etc. was just convenient or efficient when looking for them later.
would it be a neurosis if it affected clothing choice also?
I always have my phone in left pocket, keys + change + lighter (I don’t smoke) in right pocket, wallet in right hip pocket (unless I’m wearing cargo pants – then wallet goes in right knee pocket).
Anything else and I feel like I’ve forgotten something.
i always have my phone in my right pocket and my keys in my left, once in a while i put them in the same one and usually freak out, i had to re-consider because of my new work uniform…only has a back pocket.
I always keep my wallet in my right back pocket, at the end of a chain, phone and lighter at the right front pocket, smokes at the left pocket. Unless I am wearing pants with knee pockets. Then I keep my smokes at the right knee pocket.
Weird I unconciosly do this. my wallet, phone and keys need to be in my right pocket but If I have my wallet and phone i always want the wallet against my leg
Funny. I guess I could be a little more specific with my neurotic tendency here. To clarify:
My Left Pocket has my keys, my mp3 player when it’s turned off, and my pocketknife.
My Right Pocket has my wallet, my phone, my pens/pencils, my lighter and my mp3 player when its turned on.
Funny, I love my neuroses.
