foaming toothpaste around the mouth
I can’t stand to watch people brush their teeth. I can’t help but imagine all that toothpaste bubbling around, and the thought makes me want to gag and retch. Hearing loud tooth brushing is also a problem, although brushing my own teeth is okay as long as there’s no mirror. As you might imagine, this can make some social interactions and movie scenes difficult to deal with.

I was just about to post that I couldn’t stand it when someone walks into a room where I am while brushing their teeth. My roomate used to do it all the time if something was on TV that she just couldnt miss. For some reason, it made me want to punch her in the face.
same!!! it is the most disgusting thing, all that SPIT. gag.
THAT is not neurotic.
And what is with every fargin’ movie and the obligatory tooth brushing scene? I want your breath clean. I do not want to know how it got that way.
Of course, the tooth paste phobia makes it difficult to teach your kids hygiene, who wondered how I brush my own teeth. Simple. Don’t look in the mirror. Don’t get any of it on your shirt either.
i’m the same way. people are way too unscrupulous about brushing their teeth in public. and talking to you while they brush their teeth. i hate it so much that i’ve also developed a dislike for the smell of mint.
i bet you had the hardest time watching the beginning of Stranger Than Fiction (assuming you’ve seen that movie).
That was SO GROSS.
I also can’t stand mint because of toothpaste. No one has ever understood that before. It also makes it hard to brush my own teeth… I have to use a kid’s kind that’s sparkly and blue and non-mint.
I am the same way, all that toothpaste and spit and foam (gag) i have to rinse alot when i brush!! lots of water or i will gag when the taste hits my tounge or if the brush hits my back teeth if i dont rinse i will gag till i throw up. GROSS
wow…i totally relate to this. also when i brush my teeth EVERYTHING has to stay inside my mouth, if something starts to like…dribble (ew) out of my mouth i immeditely wipe it away….i hate brushing with other people in the bathroom.
I also have this problem. I don’t think it’s a neurosis, it’s just that people foaming at the mouth is downright disgusting.
Same here! Although I think my problem lies more in the bristles of the brush being bent all around and flicking back. My skin is crawling right now just thinking about it. Unfortunately, I do find it difficult to brush my own teeth… I DO REGULARLY… but I HATE it. I have goosebumps (not in a good way) across my entire body the whole time I do.
I’ve got a friend who is the exact same way, she freaks out whenever there’s a scene in a movie with someone brushing their teeth. We have to tell her when it’s over so she can take her fingers out of her ears and open her eyes.
i get chills at the sound of people brushing their teeth! haha
