floss sniffer
i have the need to smell the dental floss each time i pull it out from between my teeth. sometimes when other people are around, i have to turn my back in case they catch me sniffing the floss, because i can’t just floss without sniffing.

I’m not alone! Yeah, I have to smell after every tooth. I also have to smell every french fry before it goes in my mouth.
I rip off the flaky parts of my lips. It’s usually when I’m nervous or bored. Sometimes I can’t move on until I ripped off all of the dry parts. Sometimes they bleed.
I have to sniff my finger or the Q-tip after cleaning my ears, even if I unconciously scratch the inside of me ear in public with my pinky.
Yup, me too.
same here. i have to constantly lick the spots where i ripped off dead skin because the smoother patches beneath, while nice and not sticking up, are just as annoying. i think the lip obsession might come from my somewhat large embouchure; i was in band in high school, and constantly messing with my bottom lip was a habit since i felt i performed best when my lips where moist and smooth.
one would assume i’ve never seen a chapstick
I am the opposite. I can’t stand the flossy crap… I try to floss without touching or smelling the floss. It is very hard because I love flossing. I go through alot floss.
I have to smell the floss to and if there is somthing on th floss I put it bsck in my mouth and chew on it.
I recently started flossing and I had my first experience sniffing. I can’t stand it anymore, and I’ve jumped on the don’t sniff rule, and I”ll be happy to stay there. The thought of putting it back in my mouth is killing me, it’s smells worse than crap–shivers.
i’ve never heard of this before! smelling floss?? mxgirl — it’s great that you’ve started flossing. the reason the floss smells is because you have a little (or a lot) of gum disease. if you keep up the good work it will go away and you won’t have to smell it again. no one else will either.
