the eyes are watching
I can’t change in a room with band/movie posters, or any kind of picture/object with eyes. I either have to cover them up or turn them around.

While in the bathroom earlier this morning, I had actually planned on sending in this neurosis…
Growing up and having all of the boy band posters from YM plastered all over my walls was a living Hell.
And, even if you’re not changing…if you trip or do something stupid, they’re constantly judging.
I’m the same way when using the restroom. If there’s a magazine or newspaper with a picture of someone/something staring back at me, I have to cover it up, flip it over or try to somehow get rid of it.
On the other hand, I guess it’s not quite as bad for me, because if it isn’t a distinctly humanoid form (ie. cartoon, etc.) it’s not as disconcerting.
Me too! As a kid I had a New Kids on the Block bedsheets and comforter set… and I refused to change in my room… always changed in the bathroom or ducked below my bed.
I told this to my stepmom when I was a teenager and she just looked at me really mean and said, “That means you have something to feel guilty about.”
I have that too. And reading magazines in the bathroom is sometimes a problem too. These days I only have a picture of my boyfriend in the bedroom, he can see me nacked anytime. When there’s photographs of people around I feel they are watching me. Even photos of myself!
