video camera heebie jeebies
Whenever I go into a changing room in stores, I’ll look veeery closely at the mirror, because I think there might be somebody watching me, or there’s a video camera behind the glass. Sometimes if I’m getting a particularly bad vibe from that mirror, I flip it off or I curse at it.

Press the tip of your thumb on the mirror – if there is a gap between your nail and the reflection of your nail then it’s a real mirror.
Or at least that’s what I do.
Not sure if it’s true but it makes me feel better/safer.
I have that feeling too when I’m trying on clothes or using a public restroom. I started feeling this way when I found out that my exboyfriends mother had been working in an orthodotists office for over 7 years and very recently, accidentally broke the mirror on the wall in the bathroom while having a seizure(she’s fine by the way – it was strange because she doesn’t have a hard core case of epilepsy). There was a camera behind the mirror pointed directly at the toilet. So, everyday for over 7 years he would video tape her going to the bathroom, washing her hands, she used to change clothes in there from the gym in the mornings and stuff. He was arrested, she was traumatized. That really freaked me out!
Here are some tips for spotting cameras.
If the mirror is the type with the reflective surface BEHIND the glass (if you look from an angle or better still the side you can see this easily) then you just have to check for scratches or holes in the reflective surface. If there is one, its not always going to be a camera, but that’d be the only way for the camera to work.
Now if the mirror is the kind where the reflective surface is in front and not behind a sheet of glass, there is a possibility that this is a “one-way-see-through” mirror, like you see in cop shows on TV. Its possible it is, its possible it isn’t, so don’t go smashing the mirrors just because you suspect its see through from the other side. If possible, look behind the mirror. If there’s nothing suspicious, then feel free to get as nekkid as you want!
If there IS something suspicious, inform a store manager.
If you can’t look behind the mirror but are still feeling uneasy, change booths.
If you happen to look in different changing booths and you notice that only one or two have different style mirrors from the rest, ask a manager about it. It might be that they just have different mirror styles. If not… well lets just say its suspicious.
Hope this helps ease the paranoia, because now you have the power of knowledge on your side!
