toe-ring attachment
I have worn the same toe-ring for about 4 years and I am now afraid to remove it for any reason because I think it is now holding the end of that toe to the joint.

thats not beig neurotic. thats just really gross. you should take it off. 4 years? do you know how dirty it’ll be
I have had the same toe ring on for 9 years, and when I move it out of position there is an indentation where it usually sits. Don’t worry though, I used to have a toe ring on another toe but it broke, I’d worn it for about 5 years and the toe was still in tact.
