I can’t stand the sound of microwave beeps – so opening the door before it finishes, and *not* pressing clear is better. However, I also can’t stand leftover time. For most things, I use the stovetop.
This drives me crazy for two reasons. 1. It blocks the clock. If I’m looking at the microwave when it’s not in use, I’m obviously checking the time. 2. I had a girlfriend whose family always stopped the microwave with like 1 or 2 seconds left. Why can’t they wait a few more seconds? If I see anything but the time on the microwave when it is not in use, I have to clear it. Also, I have to wait until the mirowave is finished before I get my food out. I can’t stop it early and then clear the time. I feel it has to do it by itself.
i just hate it cause it blocks tje clock on the microwave.
Yeah leftover time drives me crazy. I’ve told my husband over and over to clear it, but I think what I say goes in one ear and out the other.
I’m like that too. I can’t stand seeing leftover time or “sensor reheat” appear on the display. I feel like that time might be added to the time that I enter into the display if I don’t clear it, and that will cause it to burn my food. Likewise, sensor reheat usually perfectly reheats my food, but if I stop it in the middle of a session and then continue heating something else, it might think it’s still heating the same food and undercook it.
I love the ocd aspect. What a hoot.
Same here. Then it takes me a second to realize that there is no such time as 0:32 except on a military clock.
I always fear that having time left on there means that micro waves are still being put out and that the machine isn’t actually off! i don’t want to be slowly fried by microwaves in my brain so I set it to 0 if I ever see time still on it!
i have the same microwave!
My boyfriend does this thing that bugs me. He always presses two of the same button. It’s always 11 seconds, or 22, or 33, like that. Even when he does it for a minute, it’s 66 seconds. When there is a button that sets it to a minute right there! I always use the minute button.
I would be sabotaging that workplace like crazy. “Some of us have O.C.D….” Just because there’s a name for it, doesn’t make it normal. So don’t bother other people with it. Especially those people who are prone to having neuroses and see this.
This drives me absolutely MAD!!
lol….. my dad is that way and sometimes when i walk by I’ll press 99:99 and wait for him to go in the kitchen, when he leaves i go in there and even though he hasn’t used it, it’s always cleared

Yes! I do that too, and I also turn the kettle off before it turns itself off, when it’s boiling.
Karim, you are an a$$hole if you go out of your way just to piss other people off. THAT is not normal.
i’m with you , karim. putting a note on the office microwave is just too nutty and we ceratainly need to have some entertainament. i think i’d probably do the same thing just to be a stinker.
I always clear leftover time on the microwave. Also when I’m feeling mischievous I type in the current time on the two microwaves in my house to mess with anyone trying to figure out the time XP
