ahhh that smell of a book
If I receive a book either from the library or the store, I am always compelled to smell it before I read it. Recently this compulsion has spread to CD liner notes.

totally. my boyfriend makes fun of me for it. i have to use a lot of catalogs at my work. i make sure no one is looking and smell them before i look up the information i need! if people catch me, i have to pull it away quickly and pretend that i can’t read it.
seriously?
I looooove the smell of books, especially old ones
I used to do this with VHS boxes!
i do the same to fresh photocopied sheets too.
Some old books have my favorite scent, an Autumnal crispness. Book sniffers unite!
hah, i’m 21 now and i’ve been smelling my CD booklets since early high school. the toxic smell of those glossy pages just does it for me. i can’t explain it.
what about tape? I love the smell of scotch tape……..I tape my nose everyday when I get home so I can smell it.
vinyl record sleeves yum yum
My young daughter does this, I thought it was an expression of how very much she loves books.
I’ve done this since I can remember.
I think Del Rey has my favorite scent.
I do this too, and I have been doing it for so many years that usually I can even tell which company published the book based on the smell of the paper. Bantam Books and Ballantine Books have my two favorite paper smells.
I thought I was so weird for doing this! But it’s not just with books, it’s basically everything: books, paper, cd liner notes, clothes. I guess I just like knowing the smell of things.
Do this every time usually with a new book, i used to do it at school when we had new maths or history books etc,
You’re actually smelling bug poison.
ha ha ha!! i thought it was only me that did this!
scotch tape! yes!! and post it notes!!
Likewise. I even buy used books exclusively because I like smell better than the fresh glue smell of new books.
