dead bodies in ditches
Whenever I walk by a secluded ditch or creek, I have to check to make sure there are no dead bodies to be discovered there. Just to confirm that I’m not part of a headline that reads “runner discovers body of missing person.”

Wouldn’t adamantly *not* looking do more to ensure that?
Are you sure you’re not looking in the ditch in hopes you WILL find a body? If you don’t look, you’ll never find one.
I do the same for dumpsters. They frighten me for the same reason.
Weird! I heard once that sometimes people who have kittens or puppies they don’t want will throw them out of their car in a box. So, every time I see any kind of discarded container on the road, I have to double check it for movement or signs of abandoned animals. Thankfully I have never seen such a sight…because I don’t know what I would actually do if I saw that kind of cruelty. But, it doesn’t stop me from checking…
I once had a very realistic dream about discovering a body on the side of the road so now I check every creepy looking place that a body might be left behind. Everybody that I tell this to thinks I’m really weird for having dreams like this. What can I say? I read a lot of murder mysteries!
