beer is plural
i can’t stand when people say beers. beer. not beers. “there’s beers out on the porch.” no no. there is beer out on the porch. the only time it is acceptable to use the word beers is when you are talking about a specific quantity. i.e. “i drank 3 beers last night.”

Yep – Three cans of beer, five bottles of beer. The plural goes to the type of container.
Or, if you’re talking about different types of beers, ie: imported vs. domestic and boutique vs. commercial, etc. Like fishes: cod vs. tilapia, and catfish vs. striped bass.
It irritates me when people don’t capitalize letters.
especially ‘I’
You know the solution to lowering the irritation level? Drink some beers. Maybe some vodkas for that matter. (sigh) Some peoples…
I kind of agree, also “those ones” is crazy annoying, but they could say “there are beers out on the porch”, that would be ok. I only point it out because you might be looking for it so much that you don’t notice the when it is alright. btw karim you made me chuckle
You can also say “there are beers on the porch”
It irritates me when people use i.e. instead of e.g.
umm, helixer, i.e. and e.g. mean different things, they should be used in different situations, sometimes i.e. is correct. e.g means example, i.e. means “that is”
oooops, my bad, what is also annoying is when people don’t read or think in any way before they write a smart ass comment, thus undermining any wit that was previously there
There is no wit in complaining about grammar and then not using it properly in your own comments and post. That’s just ridiculous.
