I cannot split stationary objects while walking with company. If I am walking with another person, and we happen across a telephone pole, light pole, garbage can etc., I have to pass it on the same side as them. If they walk to the right of it, and me to the left, it gives me a terrible panicky feeling, and I will usually turn around and walk back around it on the same side they did.

haha.. when I was a kid n I was holding hands with someone, I let go, walk on the opposite side, and say ‘bread n butter’. I still do that sometimes today..
When my boyfriend split up to walk past telephone poles or garbage cans, he takes my hand and rubs my thumb three times before letting go. It’s his little ritual.
I say “bread and butter” too. I HAVE too say it. As a child I was told to say it so the object wouldn’t cause a disagreement between who it split, but instead the passing would be as smooth as bread and butter. I think the thumb thing is sweet.
