poetic
occasionally i slip into iambic tetrameter, and if someone else (including the tv or radio) but doesnt match the 8 syllable rhythm i repeat what they said to myself untill the combined syllables become a multiple of 8. It used to take me a long time to do this but i can count off syllables and keep rhythm with my toes at a subconscious level now, which allows me to keep my sanity but leads to blisters.

Iambic PENTAmeter is sylables of five. . .
I do this in sixes.
Iambic PENTAmeter is not SYLLABLES of five; it’s five stressed syllables per line of poetry
I am utterly stunned anyone else does this – been doing it myself since age 5 or so and thought it bizarre of me. I feelmuch better knowing someone else is also bizarre ….I always wondered why EIGHT??
It’s actually five metrical feet, not five syllables. buh-DUH, buh-DUH, buh-DUH, buh-DUH, buh-DUH.
Iambic tetrameter is a series of 8 syllables alternating back and forth between stressed and unstressed, and no i have no idea why i its 8 syllables for me
