write me a haiku
I am always counting syllables on my fingers. I count them in songs, when I’m thinking about lines from a TV show or a movie. Even just conversations. I also always try to make sure that the end of what I’m counting will place the last syllable on my pinky finger. If it doesn’t, I occasionally add a few extra words to make it happen.

I do this all the time too. and I hate it.
In fact, I did it with that sentence, so I had to change the word “too” to “also” in my head to make it land on my pinky.
I do this too, but with my legs.
the count has to end on my right leg, if it doesn’t I add a few words so it does.
pretty common dear,
sometimes I do that as well,
but I’m not crazy like you.
Just kidding?
I do this mostly with songs, and sometimes on my fingertips with my thumb. But I also do it with my teeth sometimes, I don’t really click them together, just bite down harder as I “count”. It makes my jaw hurt.
i do this too. it’s weird. i also do it with my teeth, and the last syllable has to be while my teeth are not clenched.
omg, i thought i was the only weirdo that did this! i do it w/ my toes!!
Wow, that’s quite cool, I thought I was the only one =D
hm interesting — how is your poetry? I’d love to have a look. editor@interestingmag.net
I’ve been doing this since I was a kid, I think it helps to keep me calm, I do it sometimes not when I’m bored or nervous. There is also another thing where the amount of syllables in the sentence has to be equal to the number of t’s to cross and i’s to dot….I thought I was the only one too
