never gonna learn with those distractions
When a teacher plays a video up on a projector, there is nothing I despise more than when they leave the cursor in plain sight. It does not take a lot of effort to move it off to the side of the screen. It just baffles me as to why they think this is an acceptable and humane practice.

I hate that too, it’s really annoying. When I’m watching a video on my own computer, I always, always hide the arrow.
Today in class, I had to tell my teacher to move her cursor at about 20 seconds into a video. The worst thing is, the cursor AND the bar with the controls/time on it were showing. Whenever I can see the time, I always calculate how long I have left until the end/the middle/etc.
I am the same way. When someone tries to show me a presentation or video online, i can’t stand there being the cursor in the screen.
Ha ha! Me too! I can’t bear it!!! So glad to know someone else out there cares
And it has to be to the right of the screen cos that hides the pointer arrow better than then left.
This was all very normal, good, and understandable… and then you said that it was inhumane to leave the cursor in a visible location.
Tom, my thoughts exactly. Killing a child is an inhumane act, not leaving a cursor on a screen whilst playing a video. Bad choice of words. While I agree that the presence of the cursor can be distracting, my advice is to try to force to focus your attention on the video itself, even when you have control of the cursor. If you do it enough times you’ll adjust to its appearance and it will not longer distract you in class.
What corner of the screen do you guys move your mouse…s… mice… too? I always go top right. It doesn’t interfere with the bar with the controls and it’s ALMOST invisible. But if I leave the computer with the cursor in the top right I have to see it before I can move it out of it’s place.
Same here!
Arrghh…bloody mouse is such a distraction.
When im watching something on my laptop, just seeing the tip of the cursor drives me insane
OH bloody hell yes, I fucking hate it.
