liquid diet
I cannot eat soup and I haven’t for 19 years. You can’t drink food. It just doesn’t make sense, and this contradiction has prevented me from trying it my whole life. I mean seriously, soup is ridiculous.

Think of soup as a really runny sandwich.
I totally agree! Soup is not food. I cannot stand to eat it.

Smoothies aren’t food that you drink. Everyone accepts smoothies as drinks. If you eat yogurt while sipping from a smoothie, nobody will think “oh, it’s weird that you have no drink with that,” because the smoothie *is* the drink. But soup! Everyone accepts soup as food–you eat it with a spoon, and it would be weird to drink it out of a cup or through a straw. It really is a food that you drink, and I have to agree with the OP that soup is really weird.
I frequently drink soup from a cup unless its one with lots of big chunky bits then you have to use a spoon. I guess you could consider soup as a hot vegetable smoothie.
you better hope you don’t get hospitalized one day and are prescribed a liquid or puree diet
What about cereal?
Om goodness! I hope you get into soup at least one time in your life. Nothing is better on a cold, winter day than a bowl of soup. Also, if you’re going out to eat a big dinner, soup is the perfect thing for lunch. Although i dislike pea soup..yuck… or any seafood soup, but nothing beats home made chicken noodle. I hope you know a good cook that will make it for you, then you’ll be converted and I agree with Jill. So get souped up already, it’s great!
OP here. Just got my wisdom teeth out. No soup – I can’t do it!!
Think of it as food with a LOT of sauce.
Up until I went to Poland last month, I had never eaten soup. Then, they fed us soup, and I sort of had to eat.
I took one tiny sip, almost threw up and proceeded to go to McDonalds. I will never eat soup again. You are lucky that you are not so tainted.
OH MY GOD! finally! I cannot even think about trying it. I have NEVER tried a hot drink, ever!! purely on the basis that is similar to soup!! ew!
