I hate pre-shredded bagged cheeses. They taste flat and stale as soon as you open them and that gross filmy texture gets worse as it sits closed. It’s like no matter how well the bag is sealed, nasty fridge air gets sealed in. Why not just buy a block of cheese? At least that way only one end of it gets all disgusting. My boyfriend thinks this is ridiculous because he absolutely loves shredded cheese and I refuse to eat it.

how about sealing it inside another ziploc bag? You can’t expect it to stay fresh for too long otherwise. Works all the time for me. Same goes for blocks of cheese. Just common sense.
I can’t stand the pre-shredded. It’s dry and looks so fake. I love freshly shredded cheese, so much more flavorful!
Tell him to get a cheese grater.
The pre-shredded is coated with some kind of edible wax to keep it from clumping too badly, I think.
