i’m the bread
Whenever I am walking with someone else and something comes in between us, such as another person or a divider, that we have to walk around and sort of separate, I always say “bread and butter.” This is just something we did as kids and I never stopped.

My husband and I do that when we are holding hands and either have to let go or lift our arms over something. But we change up what we say “bread and butter”, “salt and pepper”, “peanut butter and jelly”… anything that goes together like that
*thinks about that episode of Monk and weeps*
Is this not just a Glasgow thing? My flatmate’s boyfriend got really upset the other day when he didn’t hear “bread and butter” after they split a pole, but my flatmate is English and didn’t understand at all!
