life is a haiku
When I was in grade school, I learned how to write haikus and, by extension, to count syllables in words and sentences. For years, I would tap out words and sentences with my fingers on one hand. I would always start with my pinky and go to my thumb. I would almost always tap out the word or sentence five times just to end the tapping on my thumb. I still tap my fingers to song lyrics or beats and I still like to end on my thumb.

same here. but i start with my index finger, go to my pinky, and add on the thumb if necessary. i prefer to just do the index to pinky though. no idear why.
I just like to tap. I start w/thumb or pinky, and count 5 taps in the opposite direction (i.e. thumb –> pinky). Then I do that over and over, back and forth across my hand, until I’m back in the “starting position.” It takes 8 counts of 5.
Ever since I had a firm grasp on typing with my fingers on the correct keys of a keyboard, I’ve typed along to pretty much all dialogue, songs, etc. using an imaginary keyboard in my head. Usually with subtle finger movements. As such, I am the fastest typer that I know. Apparently even fake practice makes perfect.
Me too, exactly the same, from pinky to thumb. I do it less than I did when I was younger, but I still do it. Song lyrics, ads I see on the subway, things people say. I also like when things end on the thumb so will repeat five times. The best (obviously) is when words or names end on thumbs naturally, as did the names of the last three guys I dated which I would tap frequently for the sheer satisfaction. They never knew.
i do this too! i have been “caught” by my friends tapping out conversations as we are having them, dialogue in a movie we are watching, etc… and i always start with my pinky and end at my thumb. i also have to have everything have a count of 5, so i will add extra syllables to make it even if i need to.
i do the same fucking thing. i tap out everything that people say in real life, or movies, or songs, the beats of songs. and if i dont it repeats in my head until i do. i also add extra syllables to make 5. i’m happy with 10, too. c:
