poopy faucet
I wait to turn off the faucet at a public bathroom after washing my hands, so I can turn it off with the paper towel I used to dry my hands. I figure that the faucet handle must be the dirtiest object, because it is the last thing that people touch before cleaning their hands. If I forget to use the towel to turn the faucet handle, I sometimes consider rewashing my hands – just depends on the bathroom and establishment. In especially dirty bathrooms with only a hand dryer, I have actually left the faucet running.

I don’t think this is neurotic. I work in a hospital and this is how we’re supposed to wash our hands.
this is just a good habit really. minus the running water. could just use an elbow maybe?
what i do if there are hand dryers i use some toilet paper?
I wash the Tap (faucet) first then my hands sometimes gets water everywhere but what the hell I’d rather touch a clean tap!
The wonderful advancements in bathroom technology… hands free soap, water and towel dispensers. Gotta love it.
if there are no paper towels, just use toilet paper or your elbow
that’s what I do

because he/she has a disorder..?
Disorder is not an excuse–carry a handkerchief or gloves if you’re that neurotic, it’s so unnecessarily wasteful to leave the water running like that.
On that note, I would imagine you have very good dreams about automatic sinks, soap dispensers and had-dryers.
Ahhh, I do this too sometimes! But it also bugs me leaving the water on like that, or other people thinking I’m wastefull. So I only do it if it’s a small washroom with the towels right next to it. And so I don’t feel that I’m wasting water, I get the towel with one hand, and keep the other under the water, like I’m still rinsing it.
Otherwise, I’ll take some of the soap and wash the faucet and taps first, then I’ll rinse them off. Then I’ll rinse my hands and then I drip the water from my hands onto the taps again before I’ll turn them off. Then I use hand sanitizer when I get out of the washroom. Just to be safe.
I dont do that, but I noticed you mentioned hand blow dryers. I cannot use them. Ever since I found out they work on recycled air, I cannot use them because I feel like I am drying my hands with dirty, germy, nasty bathroom air. Blergh
i work for a home health care agency and this is how we are trained to wash our hands. it’s not neurotic at all, it’s good hygiene.
