i am neurotic.

If a condiment bottle with the lid/opening on the bottom and placed on the table with the lid on the top and therefore with the label upside down I must flip them. The entire purpose of the bottle is that the lid is on the bottom so that it is easy to use. It is insulting to the bottle if you defy its purpose and place it upside down.

The girl in this picture is my friend Sophia who was also one of my roommates in Cambridge, MA.  She was on her way to a party, but I snagged her right before she left to take this picture.  The expression on her face is perfect for this picture.

That is Rich Juzwiak’s cat Winston and my best friend Sharon.  Sharon and I are big fans of Rich’s fourfour blog, and I thought it would be awesome to use Winston in the cat neurosis.  Rich was nice enough to have us over his house and coerce Winston into cooperating with us.  Winston is just as cute in person as he is in all his pictures and videos.  Thanks, Rich!

It took me about 1.5 hours to make this breakfast.  Sunny side up eggs are ridiculously hard to cook if you don’t have a non-stick pan so I cooked a half dozen eggs just to make sure that we had back-ups.  I wanted the bacon to be straight (as in not curl too much) so it would photograph well so I cooked all the bacon on really low heat.  That was a pretty neurotic morning.  On top of that, I refused to throw away the breakfast because I spent so much time making it, but I didn’t want to eat it because it had been sitting out for hours.  If I could have lamented that plate, I would have.

When I scoop ice cream, the top layer needs to be flat, if it’s not I will eat as much ice cream as it takes in order for it to be perfectly flat.

when i go bowling i move in the direction that i want to ball to go hoping that it will go the way i want it to.

I cant sit in a chair right after a person has gotten up. The warmth in the chair from where their butt was grosses me out. I will immediately get up and move to a different chair if i sit in a warm one or wait to sit if someone has just gotten up from a chair.

Whenever someone starts coughing really badly, I back away in fear, terrified that they will vomit. I’ve seen this happen once, and ever since then I’ve been scared to be around people coughing.

When we were done with this photo, I HAD to fix that entire stack of paper.  This is definitely a neurosis I share with the person who submitted it.

When I wipe the table after dinner, I have to make sure to wipe every part of it equally just so that no part of the table feels left out. I extend this sense of ‘object equality’ to other things such as making sure to use both of the CD drives on my computer equally.
