I take out all the m&m's, then separate them by colour, count them, and then eat them colour by colour until there are as many of each colour. Only then can I eat them in random colour order. I also do it with other candy, jelly-babies for instance.

I do this with candy (M&Ms vary, but I like saving reds or blues for last) and cereal. (I always eat the lightest colour to the darkest so my milk will turn the darkest colour possible.)

I agree with Obsessive and do the same thing. Only difference is I think they all taste the same, so I finish them off - equal number, of course - from least favorite to most favorite color.

I do this as well, but I make sure that I eat the most populous first. For instance. If there were 9 yellows, 7 reds, 5 oranges, and 3 purples, I would eat 2 yellows, then a yellow and a red then another yellow and a red...... etc. Systematically, I even the numbers out until there are even numbers of all of them (in this case, 3). Then I eat them in order of least favorite flavor to most so that I'll have the aftertaste of my favorite after all is said and done.

Always save purple or red for last.
Sour patch kids are one of my all time favorite movie theatre candies. My boyfriend hates when I get them because during dark parts of the movie I have to hold up the candy to check the color, red or orange, the green and yellow are usually pretty clear.
