give me some sugar
Whenever I go to a restaurant that has sugar packets on the table I have to reorganize them perfectly; they all have to face the same way, and they’re organized in rainbow order.

YES. People have been calling me crazy my whole life for doing this. I also arrange butter and creamers into specific patterns in their little bowls. It drives me crazy if someone messes it up. So glad I’m not alone!
I played with the sugar packets at a restaurant once (building a sugar packet house) and a waitress yelled at me because apparently they are arranged in a specific way so that blind customers can choose the right one. Maybe that will help you shake your neurosis
Who knew? Probably not even blind people.
this has come up in another post, and if you’ve ever worked in a restaurant, you’ll know what this is about: sidework by the staff includes filling and arranging the sugar boxes to the specs of the company. i know this sounds ridiculous but it helps to keep the tables looking neat and all the same. same thing with filling the salt & pepper and arranging the silver and napkins. they have to put everything back when your table leaves anyway, so don’t bother sorting ‘em out “your way”!!
