my clothes are for me and me only
I can’t wear any new article of clothing before it is washed. The idea that someone else has tried on, and, more disgustingly, been inside the clothes I am getting ready to wear, shakes me to my core. Also, unless the person is a REALLY close friend, if I loan clothes to someone, I will almost always let them keep them. All because I can’t stand the thought of someone else being inside my clothes.

So I take it you don’t shop for clothes at thrift stores or garage sales…..?
i wash my new clothes because most new items are shipped with a “sizing” sprayed on them to help keep them fresh and somewhat wrinkle-free during shipping. it’s not at all harmful but i don’t like the smell or feel. (husband is the same) i never lend clothes to anyone so the other part of the post doesn’t apply, so a partial “me too”!
