i hate my odd birthday
I cannot stand anything that has odd numbers in it. For example, if one of my classroom numbers ends in an odd number that’s all I think about all class. My alarm clock must be set on an even number at all times, as well. I can’t stand the fact my birthday is 7/11.

I prefer odd to even. funny. seven is a great number.
You might have OCD. I have the same thing with numbers and other weird things and I was diagnosed with mild OCD six months ago.
Could be worse. Could be 7/13.
Well, if you add 7 and 11 it’s an even number
I understand completely. I count syllables of words people say and I get upset if they say things in odd numbers of syllables. In my head, I have to repeat their first sentence in different ways until I can turn it into even syllables. But then I realize I didn’t listen to the rest of what they said and that also may have been odd syllables and I get anxious.Plus, then I have to pretend I was listening to the rest of what they said and it’s hard to catch up.
It’s better than it used to be, though. I used to have to tap my foot back and forth in time to the syllables but I managed to break that habit out of sheer will.
So funny–I too hate “odd numbers” but my birthday is also 7-11!! But I love that it’s 7-11 as I like that we have a store named after us!
I always read the signs of small advertisements, like store signs, street signs, or movie posters, and I pair the letters together. If there is an odd amount of letters in a word, that last letter can be brought over to the next word and paired with the first letter there. If the whole sign results in a stray odd letter… I don’t like that sign.
I am the complete opposite. Everything needs to be odd numbers – how many strokes I brush my hair, how many bites I take to chew, how many steps I take when I walk from one destination to another. I lie to people and tell them that my birtday is January 31st, when really it is the 30th. On sports teams, I needed to wear odd numbers (3,7,9,11,19 were favorites).
I set my alarm to get up in the morning to an even number, and when I’m making something in the microwave, I always open the microwave on an even number.
We have the same birthday!
Yayyy! July 11th buddies
Yes, but if you spell out your birthday july eleventh, there are 12 letters, so it’s even!
I also hate odd numbers but never thought of my birthday. Luckily it is 8/18 so win!
If you add the 7 and 11 you get 18. Therefore, you have and even Birthday and there are four numbers in the year you were born.
I came here via Google because I notice that I’m happier by far when I have a birthday that is an even number. I only live in apts or houses that have even numbers. I was born 2/24 which is fine but the year of my birth is a horrid odd number. I do not have OCD. But this feeling is so strong. My daugher was born on all even numbers 04/28/1986–lucky girl. What IS this aversion about? Anyone?
Thats funny because I LOVE that my birthday is 7/11 because I hate even numbers. Volume always has to be an odd number or divisible by 5, and I always open the microwave to an odd number. And then I get annoyed because an even number of odd numbers is an even number, and I have to do odd numbered things an odd number of times!
see, i love prime numbers (7&11) and anything related to the number three. so i added 7+1+1=9 and 9 is a perfect square (3*3=9) and even if you add 7+11=18 and 1+8=9
Wow! I am so glad I found this. Wish we could trade birthdays. My birthday is 7/12 and I have always hated it because I only love odd numbers. Roxy and Miss Kitty above- you are great! Thanks for typing all that out. I only set the microwave to full odd numbers (like 57secs, or 3 mins and 19 secs) These thought’s exactly run through my head every time I am confronted with numbers or a sequence of numbers. If there are a group of numbers and even one of them is even I’ll start adding them together so I arrive at an odd number. Prime numbers are my favorite, the ultimate odd numbers if you will. My friends think it is odd (haha pun, sorry) that I do this. Here is my biggest pet peeve about even numbers…if you have 2 numbers that are even you add them together and they equal another even number. Add 2 odd numbers and they always equal an even. In order to get to an odd you have to add an odd and an awful even. This makes me want to scream!
I added this comment to make the number of comments an odd 47 in order to match the 9 “likes” and 27 “me too”s… and the date of the 11th.
