If I am in a bookstore and pass a stack of books that are not aligned properly I have to stop and straighten them. I pretend to be browsing the books, so people don’t think I work there, or doing something odd.

of course, I do this because I used to work in a bookstore and it makes me crazy to see a mess. I also used to work clothing and whenever I shop anywhere, I’m constantly straightening. It makes my friends nuts.
I do that too! I do the same thing in movie and clothing stores. I have had people come up to me to ask me the location of items in the store.
I worked in a clothing store and I now work in a bookstore, and now I can’t go into basically any store at all without straightening things. It drives my girlfriend nuts, but the people I work with totally do the same thing.
