start right, finish left
When walking up a flight of stairs, I have to begin with my right foot and end at the top with my left foot. As I approach the top of the stairs, and can see that I will end with my right foot, I will skip a step to ensure it is my left foot finishing.

I do the EXACT same thing except I have to end with my right. Doesn’t matter what foot I start with. I will also skip a step if I see I’m going to end with my left and not my right, and if I accidentally end on the left I emphasize the next step I take with my right to even it out. I have all the staircases that I use daily (home, work etc) memorized, and I can basically just glance at any small staircase and know which foot to start on (for example if I see 5 steps I know to start with my right foot). Glad to know I’m not alone!
