you don’t know what that shoe has stepped on
I canNOT touch the bottom of my shoe if my life depended on it. Even if it’s with just my nail, I cannot even bare to touch it. If i accidentally do, I have to make sure that finger doesn’t move or touch anything else until I wash it.

maybe i’m being dense, but i cannot think of an occasion when i would have to/want to touch the bottom of my shoes! does this come up often? i mean, i touch the tops all the time, of course. please enlighten me. i’m being completely serious.
I feel this way about my cell phone. I spend a lot of time on public transit- which I hate. So my cell phone…I’m sure it’s just dripping with germs, and who knows what diseases. I hate it when people call me on it, and I have to put it to my ear. I then have to wash my hair.
I don’t touch the bottom of my shoes either. I can’t stand to have shoes anywhere but the floor — definitely not on the couch, bed, or any other furniture. The only exception is when I need to clean a pair of shoes. I wash my shoes in the sink first, just like doing dishes. Then, I put them in the washing machine as a separate load of laundry from any other dirty laundry. After that, I let them air dry in front of a fan or vent register a few days before wearing them again. Otherwise, all shoes must stay on the floor so they don’t contaminate the furniture.
“bare”–>”bear”
I had to…
