organize then clean
I cannot clean unless I organize everything first. I put all the shoes in one pile, make up in another, clothes in another, so on and so forth. Then i can put everything thing away. Though during the process I have to reorganize the draw, shelf, or closet I am putting the object into before I put it away. Also every article of clothing I own has to be in color order: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, black, gray, white, brown; and from light to dark per color.

I’m assuming you’re the crazy lady I worked for at Clothing For Kids a few months ago. And that honestly was the worst job I had all that weekend. D:
i was gonna be a wise-guy and ask how many jobs you had all that weekend but i won’t. having been in retail for several years at one point in my life, i know that the organizational stuff with clothing does end up in your own house sometimes. i’m not as extreme as the OP but i do hang my blouses and shirts by color. all my suits are black (i’m a catering director now) so that doesn’t matter! it’s just easier to pick something out in the morning when your closet is neat. yes, it’s neurotic but on the low end of the scale.
OMG i do this too (the color thing anyways)!!! And not only that, but the type of top it is has to be in order [and within their category they have to go from shortest to longest - colors go left to right and length goes right to left] too (also, everything goes in order of thickness)… first it goes from light knit sweaters w/o hoods then to ones w/hoods, then to track jackets, then to sweatshirts, then to fleece jackets, then to semi-thick jackets (like denim) then to thick jackets (like wool), then to down coats (only during the winter though), and finally my fluffy bathrobe….. my the clothes in my drawers are less.. strict… mostly because i (or anyone else) do(es)n’t have to look at them…
LOL i need to correct something “from light knit sweaters w/o COLLARS then to ones w/COLLARS” ^^;; my bad
