toilet celibacy
i haven’t actually made skin contact with a toilet in nearly 2 years. i don’t sit to urinate and i always have to use three complete toilet paper squares for each side otherwise.

you know (and not to fule your neurosis), toilet paper acts as a sponge, so the bacteria just gets to your behind more quickly. might want to invest in the plastic coated seat protectors instead. they really work!
I;m fine at home, but I also do 3 squares in public places
But don’t you touch the sides or the lid? or the handle for that matter? I find it hard to believe you haven’t made ANY skin contact. But that’s besides the point I suppose. I do that at public places, but not in my house.
Actually, numerous studies have shown that the toilet seat is one of the cleanest places in a bathroom. The bacteria on a toilet seat are normal skin flora that do not cause disease (Staph epidermidis, Micrococcus, etc.) Even if there is urine on a toilet seat, urine is sterile and contains no bacteria. Most of the pathogenic bacteria found in bathrooms are on the toilet flusher, sink knobs, and door handles. It’s transferred around bathrooms by hands that have not yet been washed, hands that are washed improperly, and hands that were not washed at all. Plop that butt down and have no fear!
