I always try to have at least $1.55 in change in my left pants pocket and always in four quarters, four dimes, two nickel and five pennies. I’ll regularly empty my pocket of anty extra change and take whichever of the aforementioned coins I may be missing from my change jar.

When I make a purchase and receive dollar bills and coins, I get upset when the cashier puts the change on top of the bills. It should be the opposite. I tell them it’s easier for the change to go in my pocket while the bills go in my wallet.

I’m a cashier, and my money HAS to all be facing in the same direction, and color coordinated. If I take over someone else’s drawer, I can’t ring up the next customer until it’s right.

If I have a large amount of cash in my wallet, like to pay a bill or whatever, I have to check that it’s still there every few minutes. Even if I’m looking at my wallet inside my bag the whole time, and the only way the money could be gone is by magic, I’ll check it again. If I’m holding cash for someone else it’s twice as bad.

I am constantly evaluating whats best to do in the situation of money and the economy. If i’m about to use a straw, for example, i just think…”Those straws cost money…do i NEED to use one??” Or, if i’m going to use a paper plate for something i think, “Those paper plates cost money…do i NEED to use it?”

I’m a cashier, and I get really excited when someone’s change back is $.41, because I can give them back one of each coin. I get really, REALLY excited when someone pays for a $3.59 purchase with a $20 bill, because I can give them back one of each bill AND one of each coin.

Whenever I have to use coins in a vending machine, I always put them in from smallest to largest (first dimes, then nickels, then quarters). I’m always afraid that one of the coins will get stuck inside the machine and that the only way to get it out is to “push” it with a bigger coin.

I deliberately don’t memorize my bank account number so that if I’m kidnapped they can’t beat the number out of me no matter how much money I have in my account.

Whenever I pay for something with a larger bill (a 50 or a 100) I always memorize a couple numbers from the serial number just in case the cashier gives me the wrong change and claims I gave them a smaller bill.
