i am neurotic.

Books, folders and notepads. They all must be stacked in a way that the largest item is on the bottom and as you go up the pile, the item gets smaller and smaller. If a large dictionary is piled on top of two tiny notebooks, it freaks me out and it must be rearranged in a proper manner.

i need to have things clean and organized. i will even go so far as to pick up other people’s messes. I work as a printing press operator, and at work i will spend time picking up matchbook sized pieces of paper off the ground and digging paper out of the trash. before i go to bed at night i spend at least 15 minutes picking up the house or i sleep lousy…..

I’m a cashier, and my money HAS to all be facing in the same direction, and color coordinated. If I take over someone else’s drawer, I can’t ring up the next customer until it’s right.

All my coffee mugs have to face the same way on their hooks. My husband and kids will turn some of them just to aggravate me. >:-(

My boyfriend arranged his spring dress shirts in color order and while he was out to work, I reorganized them into a more “correct” color spectrum allowing for more logical transitions between “problem” shirts. He immediately noticed when he came home and smiled at me appreciatively.

Sugar packets in containers in restaurants drive me insane. If there are three kinds, I will dump the container, sort them so each color is together, then make them face all one direction and neatly stack them before putting them back. My friends noticed and started to mix up sugar packets when I wasn’t looking.

I have this big fear of forgetting things. I constantly use post-its to write down little lists of things i have to do, things i need to get, music i want to download, or even things that interest me. I can never have any of these same things on the same post-it and every list has to be a different color. Needless to say, I own a lot of post-its and my planner is filled with them.

I associate a colour to every day of the week. Also, every day is an island in my mind and has a shape. Monday – Royal Blue – Average sized, round, island shape. Tuesday – Grey – Long thin island shape, kind of like Italy’s shape. Wednesday – Yellow – Huge Round island Thursday – Black – Smaller than Monday, round island with very jagged edges. Friday – Reddish Orange – Small almost square shaped island. Saturday – Golden – Big, round, smooth shape. Sunday – Navy Blue – Has a width, double the width of Tuesday but has no beginning or end. Not a complete shape.

I opened a packet of skittles the other day when I was on a phone call and when I put the phone down I found I had separated all the sweets out into piles of the same colour without realising!

All the teeth of my keys on my key chain face the same way. I also order them by size, so that if i were to hold all my keys at the same time, with the flat side facing up, they go from smallest to biggest, from left to right.
