i’ll bag myself, thank you

When I’m at the grocery store unloading my cart I have to keep the like items together. Produce, frozen foods, toiletries etc. I don’t like it when they get mixed up and get especially annoyed if despite my keeping them separate, the bagger stuffs different categories of things in the same bag.

arranging is more important than shopping

When I go grocery shopping. I organize things that are not in the right place and put them where they belong and will front items so the shelves look perfect. My boyfriend usually has to tell me to stop before I realize I’m doing it or I will keep doing it until I’m satisfied.

guess my neurosis

When I’m at work as a cashier, I count every single article that comes by. Guess what happens when I lose count? That’s right.

door open…now!

Every time I enter a supermarket, or any entrance with electric slidingdoors, I snap my fingers in a rather demanding, arrogant way. Just before the doors make way for my entrance. I’ve been doing it for years now, i don’t even notice it anymore.

guaranteed discounts

When I go grocery shopping I can’t let the cashier scan my values card before he/she starts scanning my groceries. I HAVE to wait till all the groceries are scanned so I see the price drop when they scan my card. Do you really think they would include all the discounts if you scan it before the groceries? no way.

check-out line = tetris

I always organize products I buy in a tetris-like fashion on conveyer belts in the check-out line.

lysol sandwich

When I buy groceries I place them on the checkout counter in the way I plan on eating them. Breads, deli, cheeses. I’ve always thought the checkout person would find me weird if I paired Lysol with muffins thinking that’s how I plan to eat them. Covered in Lysol.

doing someone else’s job

my friends can’t stand to shop with me because I always have to make sure that clothing is neat and tidy on the racks. Zippers must be pulled all the way up, all the buttons buttoned, everything folded neatly and stacked nicely. I have an irrational fear that if I ignore something I see or leave clothing messy that the sales people will get mad and kick me out of the store for messing everything up.

it’s about the christmas spirit

Ever since I was little, whenever I go shopping for a Christmas tree I walk around and look until I find the most ugly tree of the bunch and get that one. I honestly feel so sorry for it. That it would normally never get to be beautiful in someone’s warm living room kills me. This drove my Mom berzerk.

never run out

When I buy something that fits perfectly I am afraid that I will never be able to find anything as good as that item again. I usually buy several of these “perfect” items at a time. My closet has brand new jeans, bras, and shoes all still packaged, all exactly the same as what I’m wearing now. Just in case!
