I can’t handle breathing noises. When someone breathes and I can hear audible whistling through their nose or exhalations from their mouth, I get SO painfully aggravated and anxious that all I can think about is leaving the situation as fast as possible.

When I baby sit my niece I watch TV with the volume at 5 and captions on so not to wake her. I’ve been told this is ridiculous.

I cannot stand when people pull loose threads out of their clothes or sew in front of me. The noise makes all the hairs standup on my arms and I get a full body shiver. I don’t even know if it actually makes a noise or if I imagine it.

styrophobia is real?

I have severe styrophopia, that is a fear of styrofoam. There is something about the noise that literally makes my teeth hurt. Just thinking about the white evil makes my skin bristle with goosebumps. I will not get food to go or go to certain drive thrus that I know use sytrofoam cups. Surely I am not alone in this!

If my parents go out i always listen to music, if i hear even the slightest noise i turn off the music for 5 minutes and then i HAVE to check every room in the house just in case someone else is there.

study voices

When I start studying, I read and review using my own voice in my head. When one of my friends comes to visit me in the library, after they are gone I use their voice to study in my head and go over stuff. I use them until the next friend, and when their corresponding questions come up on tests, I answer in my head with their respective “voices.”

I HATE the sound of popping gum. There’s something about it that just cuts me to the core and I actually get really mad if I can hear it. A couple of my friends notice and apologize and say they don’t even notice they do it, but believe me I do.
